Happy New Year everyone!
The inaugural season of the Victorian Hire Karting championship is coming to a close. So far, we’ve visited four different venues and seen some great racing to boot.
With only two race days left in the season, let’s have a look at who’s in the hunt for the silverware, and also the future of the VHKC.
Division 1 Championship
Following the events of Round 4, the Division 1 championship is all but secured for Luke De Vuono, who has a 51-point advantage over the rest of the field. He could clinch the title next round by finishing 9th or higher.
Meanwhile, the race for 2nd place in Division 1 is heating up. Seven points separate Tony Kazakovski (225), Blake Renfrey (222) and Darko Veselinov (218), with other drivers trailing close behind. Two drivers will take home championship trophies and the rest will close out the season empty-handed.
Division 2 Championship
Two drivers lead the race for the Division 2 title, where Jay Lillie holds a 6-point lead over Kristian Admiraal. These two stand out from the rest with Kristian having a strong showing at Le Mans Entertainment, whilst Jay didn’t waste the opportunity to win his home race at Karting Madness Bayswater. With two races to go, we can’t wait to see who will come out on top!
Whilst Jay and Kristian lead the Division, there's competition flaring for 3rd in Division 2.
Ryan Comerford, Lachlan Haddrell, Andrew Stevens and Patrick Mouser are all within 14 points of each other, as they fight for the Division 2 Third Place trophy.
Teams Championship
Madness Motorsports might appear to have a strong lead over the rest of the teams, however, their mediocre form in rounds 3 and 4 has left the door open for AMBR Racing and Ess Cee Racing. If AMBR can put on a similar performance seen in round 4, they could find themselves neck and neck with Madness Motorsports with one round remaining.
VHKC Season 2
