what to do if you're a new driver
All new drivers attending their first race day will compete in the Open Division, amongst Division 3 and 4 drivers.
New Drivers will compete in their own class, for their own points and medals, and will not impact the Points and Medals awarded to drivers in other Divisions.
Eg: The best finishing New Driver will receive the New Driver Gold Medal and maximum points score, regardless of where they finish overall.
After their first race day, all New Drivers will be assigned a Division in which they will compete for the remainder of the season.
Division assignments are based on lap time data, race results, and racing standards.
If a New Driver is assigned to either Division 1 or 2, their points tally will be halved.
If they are assigned to Division 3, their points tally will remain the same.
If they are assigned to Division 4, their points tally will be doubled.
RACE FORMAT
Each Division will be split into groups of up to 14 drivers
Each group will complete:
5 minutes Qualifying
5 minutes Heat Race
Following the group sessions, drivers will be allocated Final Race Groups based on their best time across either of their group sessions.
Finale Races are 10 minutes long
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 drivers in each division (not in each final).
The points awards will be as follows:
Minor Points awarded for Heat Races (per group)
Major Points Awarded for Final Races (in continuation of fastest to slowest final group).
